I met up with my Shanghai friends today! Lili and Haitao. They just came back from Singapore after finishing their studies. Feels good to walk around Shanghai with familiar friends, and better still locals. So hospitable of them to treat me to dinner and bringing me to walk parts of Shanghai.
Hope to meet up with them more often and also to repay the dinner treat!

Anyway, I just uploaded my pictures on my phone into my computer. Most of it actually was from a rather long time ago...

This is Yuyan Garden. A famous tourist site in Shanghai. Besides its traditional architecture, there are also a lot of food stalls and souvenirs to get there. A lovely place to be.

Delicious, but it was simply toooo hot.. burnt our tongue.

This was taken in XinTianDi. A restaurant and bar area 20min away from my apt by foot. Its a place meant for tourists and expats, so things there are actually rather expensive. So, experiencing it 1 time was good enough. The music was great though. The live band and the singer was awesome. Had a fun night listening to the band and relaxing.

This is the Xujiahui Cathedral. I believe its Catholic.. but it doesnt have english mass, so I dont go there. Looks cool doesnt it.

This is the view from my window in office. I like to look out, far away once in a while to make sure my eyes aren't straining on the computer too much.

Happy 1 mth anniversary! Today marks my 1 mth here in Shanghai.

Some pictures to share..Went to the Bund today... since the weather was a clear and nice friday. Took the cruise down the Huangpu river...

The pearl tower and the round globe is a convention centre.

The one behind is the Shanghai World financial Centre and the Jin mao tower in front. The Shanghai world financial tower is the tallest building in Shanghai, standing at 492m.

I've posted this up in my old blog. Just in case those who didnt get a chance to see before my blog got deleted... this is the view from my apartment. Wonderful right! Im on the 33rd floor!

The Kitchen with our only cooking utensils. 1 pot and a frying pan. We now have a chopping board, 1 knife, bowl for washing rice, 3 bowls, 3 cups, 3 spoons, chopsticks and dishwashing detergent. Haha.

Our living room. There will usually be 3 laptops being used at night. So i have taken over the small 2 seater dining table which is not in the picture.

Our toilet.. with a very lousy sliding door that always get stuck.

This is mini lobster. We had a company dinner to welcome the new comers and our boss treated everyone to this. Its very very small... about the size of ur finger?? But the bad thing is that the lobster head makes up half the whole lobster, which means there is actually very little meat. But it quite good! Im now waiting for the crab season!!! Coming in september!! wahaha...

Looks like I need more exercising! haha

This blogger thing sucks... I cant write my title... and my old blog is gone forever... Google didnt even email me back regarding giving me my blog back. Boo to that.

But on the other hand.. I read the news today.. I have a good feeling about finding a good job when I go back. Hoho!!

MM Lee outlines two challenges for Singapore to undertake - CNA 14Aug 09

"Mr Lee’s second challenge is to encourage Chinese Singaporeans to speak more Mandarin and to take up scholarships to study in China’s top universities.

He said Singapore needs 200 to 300 A—level students to be proficient in both languages and cultures to manage the work with China — both government—to—government and in the private sector."

I didnt take up a scholarship in China's top universities.. but I did study in China's top University! Wahahahha... and Im now here in Shanghai working, practicing my mandarin and also understanding the Chinese culture!

Looks like my decision to come China early this year was right. Its really amazing how opportunities are being created for me every time I make a major decision. I remember choosing to study Hospitality and Tourism in Temasek Poly after my O'Levels and not long after there was news for the Integrated resorts to be built.

Hoho... I know that I am so blessed... Its nice to see all these indicators telling me I made the right choice, to let me persevere on. Lets hope things will turn out well when I get back!

Alright. my previous blog got deleted by google for no reason. So this is my 3rd blog in China.

Lets hope this blog will be able to survive this 4 mths that im in Shanghai.
